Experience Wealthy Affiliate
Fortunately, I can always depend on selling my content marketing services to make a decent living while I am working on developing my affiliate marketing business.
Developing the affiliate marketing business through extensive blog writing and traffic-building to your website can be a very long game.
Particularly if you have a very young website.
Surely you can you can achieve great success, but very few people succeed without writing a ton of high quality content, and getting relevant eyeballs on that content
No doubt there is social media, and other ways to build your engagement faster. But it’s still a long game.
Thankfully in the meantime, content marketing pays the bills!
At least for me.
There are affiliate links within this post. What this means is that if you decide to purchase anything through one of my links, I'll be rewarded with a small commission at absolutely no extra cost to you. This small commission helps me run and maintain my website.
What Is Content Marketing?
Content marketing is often misunderstood and confused with traditional marketing. It is also mistaken for social media marketing, forum marketing, affiliate marketing.
Traditional marketing is becoming far less effective as we approach the end of 2019. As successful marketers who aim to be on the vanguard, we all must aim to find a better way.
Producing relevant and highly useful content should always be positioned at the epicenter of your marketing plan.
This is why we need content marketing.
So what is content marketing?
Content marketing is a tactical marketing method that focuses on creating, publishing, and distributing highly valuable, consistent, relevant, and useful content in order to appeal and retain a clearly targeted audience. The goal of content marketing is to ultimately induce a profitable action by the customer.
In a word, the key to content marketing that differentiates it from a traditional marketing approach is relevancy and usefulness.
If you only remember one sentence from this entire article, remember this one because it bears repeating: relevancy and usefulness.
When it’s done right, content marketing is a win-win: it’s both great for company profits, and for your customers.
Here are the 3 Key Reasons Why Companies Use Content Marketing to Reap Benefits:
Why Content Marketing?
As I mentioned previously, the 2-prong key to content marketing is the following:
Marketing is impossible in the absence of relevant and useful content.
That is the #1 Biggest Difference between content marketing and the other “stuff” you get from traditional marketing companies who relentlessly try to sell you “trash”
Any company that sends you information that is not relevant or useful to your business has zero value. In fact, we call that SPAM. This is what makes content marketing so captivating and sets it apart from the “noise” in today’s environment of thousands of companies trying to sell you something in the marketing space.
If you go back to the definition of content marketing and remove the word “relevant” and “usefulness”, you will simply get the definition of all the other garbage that traditional companies try to “sell” you. .
What it comes down to is this. It doesn’t matter what marketing tactics you use,
Quality content is a constituent of all forms of marketing. Therefore, content marketing should always be part of your process, not something that is separate.
Before I give an example of content marketing in action, here are the 6 Arms of Content Marketing:
- Social media marketing: Content marketing strategy comes before your social media strategy.
- SEO: Search engines reward businesses that publish quality, consistent content.
- PR: Successful PR strategies address issues readers care about, not their business.
- PPC: For PPC to work, you need great content behind it.
- Inbound marketing: Content is key to driving inbound traffic and leads.
- Content strategy: Content strategy is part of most content marketing strategies.
